When our founder, Danielle Smith, received a breast cancer diagnosis in January 2021, her first question was, “Why me?” Realizing that cancer could strike anyone at any time, Danielle formed a group of fellow survivors and supporters committed to helping others navigate—and even prevent—cancer.
Now a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, We Help You More Everyday (WHYME) is committed to reducing the risk of breast cancer in Huron County, Ohio, through education and support. By building awareness of holistic approaches to healthy living, we hope to prevent more breast cancer diagnoses and keep our community healthy.

Nearly 10,000 new cases of invasive female breast cancer are diagnosed in Ohio each year. Female breast cancer is the leading type of cancer incidence in Huron County, accounting for nearly 15% of all new cancer cases. We want to reverse these statistics—starting in our own community.

Even though annual mammograms are covered by health insurance, many women struggle getting to their screening appointments. We close this gap by providing pre-paid gas cards to help women get to their mammograms, increasing their chances of early detection.
Undergoing breast cancer treatments can be scary and stressful, so we try to send a little love and support through care packages filled with comforting and practical items like warm fuzzy blankets, reusable water bottles, and massage gift cards.
As part of our commitment to sharing helpful resources, tips for healthy living, and strategies for reducing breast cancer risks, we host speakers at our monthly meetings and at educational events like our annual Huron County Natural Health Summit.
